We are proud to offer preschool classes for students 2 years old through 5 years old. Our program is set up so that each year students continue to build on the learning blocks of the previous year until reaching Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten, which is a government-funded program to help prepare students for kindergarten.

Methodist Day School was founded in 1961 under the auspices of First United Methodist Church, having the unique distinction of being the oldest preschool in Collier County.

Methodist Day School follows the Collier County School Calendar

Extra Goodies

Methodist Day School has been very fortunate to have the loving support of the church as well as the families in our preschool and because of this we have been able to enjoy some extras. On a weekly basis the children attend Chapel with our pastor, music class, and a wonderful art class which focuses either on a famous artist or type of art work. Students also have a monthly special event that may include a “Brown-bag lunch,"  during which all families are invited to bring their lunch and eat together; special party; or school-wide field trips to local attractions such as the zoo, Botanical Gardens, and the beach.

Alicia Silvin Methodist Day School Director/FUMC Wesley Kids Coordinator

Alicia loves children and brings extensive experience as a Director with a passion for early education.

She started her career teaching for the Collier County Public School District.  After teaching elementary school, she wanted to return to her first love, early education, so she moved into management as the Preschool Director of The Village School (at North Naples UMC).  Most recently, she has served as the School Director at Creative World School in Fort Myers. We are thankful to have Alicia here at MDS. She is full of energy and light. She works hard along with our Pastor Nancy Mayeux and active MDS board to make MDS a place where anyone would want their preschool child to spend a joyful day.
